The Social Services Agency under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population has launched the “Papa Schools” program, developed by Forest School Azerbaijan as part of a social contract.
The project aims to improve responsible parenting skills and conduct educational activities to help prevent families from falling into difficult life situations. The program’s primary goal is to increase fathers’ involvement in the parenting process, strengthen healthy family relationships, and promote the equal recognition of boys and girls as family members. Particular attention is paid to supporting children’s physical and psychological development.
Ten qualified trainers with experience working with a variety of audiences were selected to implement the program. They underwent specialized preparatory training. Trained facilitators will begin conducting educational classes and discussion sessions for fathers in the regions this December.
The program will cover the Sabunchu and Binagadi districts of Baku, the cities of Sumgayit, Ganja, and Lankaran, the city of Khirdalan, and the Masalli, Jalilabad, Tovuz, and Shamkir districts. A total of 250 fathers will participate in the project.
On December 5, 2025, an information session and program presentation were held as part of the project.
The event aimed to introduce the “Papa Schools” model to the public, explain its goals and objectives, and introduce the trainers who will soon begin working in the regions.
International research confirms that active father involvement in parenting improves the well-being of families, especially those living in difficult circumstances. Furthermore, healthy relationships between fathers and children are a key factor in improving social skills, academic achievement, and psychological resilience in children.
